Dear Friends,
Meniti Cakerawala performance in Klang on
9 August 2025 at the Soka Gakkai Malaysia, Culture Centre Selangor was such a pleasant surprise. We had been worried that we would not have a good audience in Klang but it turned out we had a fabulous reception and super turnout.
I was even surprised with the turnout at the lecture ‘The Making of Meniti Cakerawala’, (7pm – 8pm) prior to the performance!
The audience were so appreciative and seemed to be on the same page with us.
The SGM president, Mr Johnny Ng Teck Sim hit the nail on the head when he remarked, “these artists sent their message succinctly with dance what we have been telling people with words of our interconnectedness with regard to each other and the cosmos … I hope we will now find more time to look at the moon and the stars after this performance“.
The Klang audience experience was exceptional and to think that we almost skipped Klang because it did not have a theatre that could take us…
It was fortituous indeed a few months ago when writer Cyril Pereira introduced his friend Mr Johnny Ng (who happened to be the President of SGM), that I decided there and then to speak to him about performing in Klang.
So look out as SGM will also host us in our next performance in Penang at their centre (Bayan Lepas) on the 15 August – then, Kuching Art festival (17 Aug) next!
Ramli
