Dear Friends,
It was my turn to host lunch for my ol’ H-Company colleagues from the RMC (Royal Military College) days. We OP (Old Puteras) are known as part of the 69ers batch as that was the year we were inducted to this once august and elite institution, conceived hopefully to groom the ‘creme de la creme’ and potential decision-makers of the country.
What happened more than 55 years later no one would have any inkling or guessed!
We were flung to different directions but what is wonderful about this multi-racial group is they kept in touch and meet often to check on and support each other.
Yes, everybody followed their destinies, most went overseas for further education, marriage followed, career, compulsory household period, children and now in their 70s, mainly retired and timang cucus…
I guess I was very much the odd one out!
It was simply awesome to have them at Sutra for a mega lunch, joined by my three glamorous girl friends who were so ‘hands on’ as co-hostess, making sure everyone had a great time.
I sent photos of the gathering to another friend who quipped ‘it looked like an interesting old folks home!’
I guess you know who is NOT going to be invited to Sutra the next few months.
Ramli
