Envy, longing and desire – an odissi performance by dancers of Sutra Academy, who hail from various backgrounds, sharing their journey and dedication to dance.

The repertoire explores Longing as a state of being in love; Envy in relation to being abandoned at the height of springtime desire; and Desire as a compulsion to fulfil one’s marked destiny.

Envisioned through the lotus eyes of Shakti, the emotions pour forth like tongues of insatiable fire to consume life’s samsara.

To finally obtain liberation, SHE must accomplish the ultimate act, vanquishing all Envy, Longing and Desire.

We share with you how we revel and overcome our ‘afflictions’ guided by the Shakti within!
