Dear Friends,
‘Dancers at Large’ was a great creative release for all concerned, especially, for the seven girls/dancers involved in this production. This video captured a glimpse of the exposition of their talent on the premier night. The superb weather allowed the dancers to perform the second half of the program at Amphi-Sutra stage, amidst the sylvan garden atmosphere.
The girls convinced many of us that youth is not wasted on the young after all. Wherever they performed, the space was palpably energised, so much so that some cannot help but feel that dance, in fact, has been created for young bodies.
The girls who ranged from 13 to 16 years of age danced, stirred and stole the hearts of the audience. They came through their performance, jubilantly triumphant!
The wind beneath their wings had been their akkas – Geethika Sree and Tan Mei Mei, who had been relentless and indefatigable in bringing out the full blossoming of their potentials. Well done, girls!
{The production was co-presented with JCPR. The latter promoted the show with great panache. (The founder/director Jiman Casablanca is seen here felicitating the dancers)}.
