When Sutra dancers had a performance break at the Konark Festival in December 2017, it would have been unthinkable for the dancers not to take the opportunity to have their photographs taken at the Sun Temple of Konark – an iconic UNESCO Heritage monument, which some regards as the eighth wonder of the world. In addition, S. Magendran, Sutra’s talented resident photographer, was available at their service. This was the brief genesis of the series of amazing photographs of Sutra dancers at the Surya Temple of Konark.
