Nirmala Karuppiah, one of Malaysia’s eminent woman photographers, dedicates her art to the memory of her late father, a true Malaysian army-man, till the end of his days. Her father, who she looks up to, and with whom she was close, becomes the muse, of her solo photography exhibition, My Papa, The Story-Teller. Her body of works is a moving ode to her Papa, connecting her own awakenings as an artist and a human being, such that her Papa’s stories become her own compelling stories and demonstration of her art and love for her Papa.
