Dear Friends,
Tired of the mundanity of everyday life? If you are, come and see us and be emotionally and spiritually lifted!
Sutra team leaves for India today to stage Radhe! Radhe! for its India Premiere in Kolkata (24/10), Bhubaneswar (25/10), Cuttack (26/10) & New Delhi (28/10) – a manifestation of the soft cultural diplomacy of two nations, kindling ancient cultural ties with new dance interpretation on the contemporary stage.
Radhe! Radhe! a collaboration between Sutra (Malaysia) and Tridhara (India), is inspired by the indigenous folk form of Radha Prema Leela of Ganjam, South Odisha echoing the wisdom of the late Guru Debaprasad Das that true innovation must spring from within, from the indigenous inspiration that shaped Odissi in the first place.
The debate of whether the strand of desi or margi is superior is irrelevant at this day and age. Indeed, both streams co-exist effortlessly in Radhe! Radhe!
Don’t miss the India premiere of this new Odissi work!
Sutra.
