Ganjam
GANJAM (odissi), is homage to the culturally potent region of Southern Odisha, home ground of some of Odisha’s eminent medieval composers, poets and literary figures. Ramli Ibrahim, Sutra’s artistic director, has commissioned new and adventurous repertoire from Guru Gajendra Panda. Gajendra Panda, son of the soil, inspired by the folk dances and musical traditions of rural Ganjam, brought fresh energy and vocabulary to Sutra’s odissi. Sutra, internationally known for its excellence in odissi, will be accompanied by musicians from Odisha in this exciting hymn to odissi. Ticket
