Ever since Sutra presented Kenny Shim in an amazing work, pre-Covid pandemic some two years ago, (performed with Suhaili Micheline, another amazing dancer), I had wanted Kenny to take a few dance classes for Sutra dancers.
We were delighted that the elegant and talented Kenny Shim was able to introduce & teach the Cunningham contemporary modern dance technique in a series of 3 classes.
Last week, Kenny Shim, Founder & Director of Kenny Shim Dance Collectives, assisted ably by his dancer Amirah, was able to conduct his first dance class at Sutra – a lively and enjoyable time indeed for our young dancers from the Outreach Program.
We look forward to two more classes of Cunningham Technique with Kenny and hope soon to also sample the full program of his choreography in the not so distant future.
