Sutra Foundation was privileged to perform recently at the celebration of 65 years of diplomatic relations between India-Malaysia.
HE Shri BN Reddy welcomed the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, YB Dato’ Seri Saifuddin, and a host of other dignitaries to celebrate the occasion.
Six male Sutra artistes performed the Chakravaka Pallavi, in which the allusion of ‘The temptation of an acolyte’ was imbedded within the pure dance matrix of the Pallavi.
Judging from the reaction of the audiences, the modern treatment presented within traditional framework of odissi, brought in another perspective and dynamism to Indian classical dance, seldom seen.
Also present were two guest visual artists from Odisha, Helen Brahma & M Sovan Kumar. Helen presented her exhibition ‘Guardian Spirits’ the next day at Sutra Gallery, officiated by HE Shri BN Reddy.
