Sutra Gallery offers a unique alternative venue for visual arts in Malaysia and is singularly associated with Sutra Dance Theatre (Malaysia’s premier dance company).Over twenty-eight years, Sutra has spearheaded painting, drawing and photographic exhibitions alongside its dance productions, and thereby projected an integrated view of the performing and visual arts. With the formation of Sutra Gallery (1996), a consistent flow of figurative works have emerged through the Gallery’s commissions and residency programs which span both national and international artists.
