On 27 March 2024, Sutra was privileged to be invited by the High Commission of India (Kuala Lumpur), who is hosting the visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to perform for HE Dr S Jaishankar, Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs, Government of India. The invitation to attend the function, held at the Mandarin Oriental, on 27 March 2024, was extended to the Indian communities of Malaysia. Many of the guests are admirers of Dr S Jaishankar for his stellar global presence as one of the compelling voices of new India.
The team of the High Commission of India executed an excellent job in bringing together just about the ‘Who’s Who’ of the Indian diaspora and Malaysian business community to interact with Mr Jaishankar. The latter fielded some controversial questions, calmly and professionally.
Both Sutra Foundation and Temple of Fine Arts (TFA) performed bringing to the fore the subtle and essential message of the ‘human’ element of cultural diplomacy that should be invested into bringing politics, socioeconomic realms of nations together – a vital area of soft diplomacy of Arts and Culture that must also be given emphasis.
