Dear Friends,
The Sutra Parents’ Day for bharatanatyam continued on this auspicious week of Navarathri as scheduled although most of us, are presently in Japan.
Under the capable hands of teachers, Rathimalar and Ishwar, helped by other senior dancers, the Parents’ day gave the opportunity, not only for the parents to see how their children have fared, but also most importantly for the young dancers to engage in the process of ‘performing’ and the preparations it entail. It’s a whole process of discipline and giving the best of oneself. It also promotes team spirit and a great community get-together.
We realise ourselves that the young dancers unwittingly get inducted to the ‘process’ more naturally through this communal activity of Navarathri.
