Sutra Team met up with the Tin Alley team to consolidate the coming performance of Jaya Ram at the Bukit Merah Wood Factory, nestled at Lahat Road, on the outskirts of Ipoh.
This is an exciting and unconventional venue for Jaya Ram which was originally conceived & choreographed for the proscenium stage. We are pleased to be able to have a detailed discussion on, and thus smoothen in advance the crucial artistic, administrative and marketing areas of the staging. Already tickets sale has reached more than 70%.
Tan Kai Lek, CEO of Tin Alley speaks of the time during the MCO when he decided to spend time to develop his moribund family wood factory into an active arts centre of sorts. This was how the concept of the Bukit Merah Wood Factory came about.
Jaya Ram, Sutra’s successful Odissi production is slated to perform here on 9 & 10 Dec, 7.30pm. Audience can make this into a family outing and also partake for a delicious ‘ori’ Sin Yoon Loong White Coffee drinks and meals before the show.
