Dear Friends,

Hareen Loganathan, an accomplished young dancer of Sutra Dance Outreach Program, assails his coming solo Odissi recital with some of the most challenging classic repertoires of the late Debaprasad Das.

Through Dance, Hareen has discovered and cultivated the core of his inherent artistic talent and in due course has empowered his youth with the precious grace and beauty of Dance.

In ‘Yearning for The Beloved’ Hareen, the devotee-dancer delves within to distill his purest state of devotion as a gift to the highest spirit, metaphorically represented by ‘The Beloved’.

Emotionally, Hareen endeavours to offer through the gift of his dance, not only the beauty and grace, but also the most vulnerable part of himself – his emotions or rasas. Only then can he achieve the union of body, mind and spirit with his Beloved.

Simultaneously, through this power of expressivity, the hues of ‘rasas’ will penetrate the hearts and souls of his rasikas transporting them into the resonant heightened emotional realms effecting the same catharsis and liberation that Hareen himself experiences.

This is the lofty ideal espoused by the dramatic concept in Indian classical dance, such as Odissi.

This experiential and metaphorical love-story between the Devotee (Dancer) and ‘The Beloved’ thoroughly alien to our digital technologies, artificial intelligence and religious bigots, will be narrated by Hareen’s senior compatriots – Nishah Devi, Rajavel/Vickneshwaran, Geethika Sree and Ramli Ibrahim.

Enjoy!
